SAT Math Tutoring

Improving your SAT Math score requires more than reviewing formulas and completing practice problems. Every student has different strengths, weaknesses, learning styles, and testing habits.

My tutoring is designed to identify those differences and adapt as the student progresses.

My SAT Math Tutoring Process

1

Diagnostic Evaluation & Personalized Learning Plan

Every student begins with a diagnostic evaluation using SAT-style problems and, when available, a full-length practice test.

I analyze far more than simply which questions were answered correctly or incorrectly. I look for knowledge gaps, careless errors, pacing issues, test-taking habits, and problem-solving strategies to identify the areas that will produce the greatest score improvement.

Based on this evaluation, I develop an individualized learning plan. As tutoring progresses, that plan is continually updated to reflect the student’s growth, homework performance, and evolving needs.

Personalized Instruction & Reinforcement

Every lesson is designed around the student’s individual needs. I create a personalized learning plan based on the student’s goals, diagnostic results, homework performance, and progress.

During each online lesson, I save the Zoom whiteboard containing all of our work. After the lesson, I use AI to transform those handwritten notes into organized study guides that include:

  • Clear step-by-step solutions
  • Explanations of important concepts
  • Helpful problem-solving tips
  • Common mistakes to avoid
  • Clean, easy-to-read formatting

Homework is selected specifically for each student from the SAT textbooks and resources I use. Assignments are based on the student’s performance during the lesson and on previous homework, and they are updated as the student progresses.

Lesson Summaries & Progress Monitoring

After every tutoring session, students and parents receive a personalized lesson summary that includes:

  • Concepts covered
  • Strengths demonstrated
  • Areas needing additional practice
  • Updated learning plan, if needed

Throughout the tutoring process, students complete periodic SAT practice tests and assessments. These evaluations measure improvement, identify remaining weaknesses, and help guide future lessons.
